Hi everyone,
Well things are starting to pick up around the bay area, with reports of a little bit of everything coming in.
Except for the smelt, the run has ended for the year.
Otherwise there have been some reports of some dandy browns and coho being taken by trollers around the long island and houghton point areas all on stickbaits off of boards in shallow water anywheres from 3ft to 15ft of water.
Also there have been a few smallmouth staging up near sandcut, but water temp is the key here, look for that 50 degree water, there is some out there just have to find it,slowly work them plastics.
There are still plenty of fish in the rivers,i was up on the souix river today and caught some steelies that were done spawning, but then watched bunch in action spawning, also caught some nice resident browns all on spawn and nightcrawlers, buddy caught a nice 25incher on a spinner yesterday.
Seen some nice northerns caught in the last few day's on dead smelt close to the shorelines, they all averaged about 34in with a few a lttle bigger, heard of one 42incher caught on the 5th of may.
As long as the heavy rains stay away the action should continue to pick up even more.
TIGHT LINES TO EVERYONE,
Jaime.
