Hi everyone,
Well this past week we had a little better fishing for the anglers, several nice reports of smallie catches reported with 40+ fish with some bonus northerns and walleye.one group also tangled with a sturgeon for over 30 min.
drop shotting the walleye suckers has been the go to bait so far,and the fish are in 10 to 15ft of water on the flats close to the steep breaks and also out by the lighthouse.
also had some very nice catches coming from the wading fisherman over by the mouth of the souix and onion rivers using both spawnbags and casting small spoons and spinners, coho, splake and a few browns are the what the catches have been, there are also a few coho starting to show up in fish creek and at the mouth also.the rivers are still low and clear but there are fish in them now.
the trollers are still getting a few fish but it's been spotty, most fish are real shallow and can get very spooky so long lines on the boards is the key using smaller stickbaits.
Musky fishing is slowly improving with the cooler temps and the guy's are using the big suckers now.
some lakes are better than others depending what stage they are at with the turnover.
don't forget to stop by RIVERROCK INN &BAIT for a great selection of lures and live bait along with some of the best lodging in the area.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE
Jaime.
