The bay bite is staring to heat up with warming water temps Walleye action has been a bit inconsistent but is improving early morning and evening hours are producing best but mid day fish can still be caught. most are trolling crawller harnness and stick bait's but lindy rig's and jig's have also been boating fish.the walleye's are spreading out throught out the bay now some fish are still being caught shallow but folks are also reporting fish in deeper water as well. trolling is the main stay right now with the walleye's. Smallies are in the slough's and sand cut in good numbers and 30 plus fish day's are the norm right now plastic's have been the main stay but hard baits such as cranks and x-raps have been boating fish too on the slow periods walleye suckers on slip bobber's help's keep the bite going. Pike are still around the shallow weed beds but most bigger pike have moved to deeper weed beds and shallow weeds close to deeper water. spoons and spinner bait's have been the key to boating numbers of pike. some are still soaking live suckers and dead smelt both on bobbers and on bottom. Lake trout and salmon have moved off shore for the most part but some fish are still being caught off the tip of long island to bayfield on down riggers and dipsie's with spoons and meat rigs or flasher's and fly's but most fish are being caught out on the flats and in the islands. please call or stop in at river rock inn and bait for current up to date reports and check out or new inventory comeing daily.
