Smallie's are done with this years spawn and it was another great shallow bite this spring with great numbers of trophy fish being boated but also was great to see a good number of younger year classes around as we need them to keep this fishery strong. Most fish shallow right now are on the smaller side but some bigger fish are still hanging around.post spawn fish for the most part have left for their summer haunts look in 10ft out to 30ft for most action now run and gun untell you find active fish and spend some time their. Cranks and heavy spinner baits and swimjigs will be the norm for most but drop shotting has become a great tool. Walleye suckers on lindy rigs is a good bet too and can make your trip some days. Pike for are being found around the shallow weed beds but most bigger fish have found home around deeper weeds and channel edges. spoons and spinner baits are the norm but also try some musky sized bucktails and spinners as well you catch size will go up. Perch look for weeds and wood some eater size can be found shallow but most will be 10ft down to 30ft small jigs with chunks of crawler work good also small crappie minnow and fat heads work too also small jigs tipped with small leechs will boat these great little eaters.
