Folks the bay has ice 6 to 9 inches of ice avg from the head of the bay down to second landing. There are guy's starting to poke around the light house area but please be carefull.Guy's are running machine's around most area's on the ashland side just stay away from docks and the breakwall to the light house. The main sheet starts to taper from the s curve as it heads for washburn guy's are only walking out from their for now give it about a week for machine travel on that side of the bay.
Fishing reports have been a little mixed some guy's reporting mixed bags of walleye and perch with a trout or whitefish mixed in for good measure. The water is clearing up some to 5 to 7 foot visabillity avg some area's are still a little more dirty but clearing. The fishing will start picking up from here on more guy's will be able to hit their favorite spots now and move to find active fish.
